It was a perfect day for a flagrant display of public knitting. We also celebrated the installation of incredible yarn bombs on the traffic bollards in front of the shop, by Dawn Juruc. Fabulous prizes were provided by LadeeBee Supplies and The Yarn Boutique. Thanks to The Girls are Back in Town for the live musical accompaniment.

Poet/playwright Shannon Bramer and guests Shawn Micallef, Sharon Harris, Aisha Sasha John, Paul Vermeersch, Chantalle Asselin, Mary Breen and Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer explored the notion of love in our culture.
September 2010
We did it! Dozens of volunteers and passersby helped cover an entire car with a knitted cosy! Now the car cosy will be dismantled and turned into blankets for Streetknit. Thanks to AutoShare for the loan of a car, and Estelle Design for the donation of yarn.

21 Pink Leaves, an art installation on Dundas St., brought awareness to the connection among cancer, community and craft.
Worldwide Knit in Public Day Extravaganza!
Sun, June 13, 2010
Junction Square (Dundas at Pacific)
Due in large part to the weather, we didn't quite smash the Guinness world record for most knitters, but we certainly had a blast and raised a lot of awareness for Streetknit, which provides knitted woollies to Toronto's homeless. Presented by Wise Daughters and That's Women's Work. To see lots more photos from the event, please visit Wise Daughers' Facebook page.
